It still makes me laugh but a couple of weeks ago I was out walking when I walked around a couple of old blokes talking. It's the age of social distancing so I took a wide berth around them, prompting one to say to me 'It's okay mate, I haven't got it'.
Last week, the staff at The Armidale School had some fun, taking part in the 'Blinding Lights' challenge to say 'we miss you' to students.
It was great to see! But of course, the serious side of the pandemic continues.
This week will be the final one that the drive-through testing clinic will be set up behind Armidale Hospital. On average it has tested 400 people each week since it arrived a fortnight ago.
Our council has some serious matters to deal with too.
One councillor, Diane Gray, who supports keeping the CEO, says they have been flooded with emails from the community urging the council to work together and keep the CEO.
The issue of vehicles in the mall continues to be a hot topic for the council.
It has been an extremely tough time for our business community, but we are starting to see signs of things returning to normal.
On the weekend we saw some real estate agents start holding open homes again,
While we have seen the challenges of homeschooling during this period, there have been some heartwarming stories.
One of my work colleagues, Rochelle Tubb, has teenage daughters at different schools (one at O'Connor and one at TAS) and while it means she has to communicate with different schools, she has seen her daughters get to work together on school work.
Maybe the teenagers could show our councillors how it's done.
