Cr Diane Gray told The Armidale Express that councillors had received a flood of emails supporting the CEO, and urging stability.
"The emails we're receiving are from very prominent business people, but also people within the community from all walks of life, that are genuine in their views that enough's enough, we need stability, particularly in the times of COVID-19," Cr Gray said.

"But also that Susan is doing a very responsible job. It is very evident that she is capable (and) highly competent in what she is doing, and they cannot understand why councillors would want to dismiss her."
Cr Gray said the sentiment in the emails sent to councillors was that the council was very lucky to have someone of Mrs Law's calibre working in Armidale.
"They do not understand why councillors would not be as appreciative, and be guided by a person with such knowledge."
While there have been no reasons given for termination - councillors say they are not allowed to speak publicly about their motives -on Tuesday, April 28, six councillors contacted the mayor requesting the meeting to terminate Mrs Law's contract.
Cr Gray said the emails from the community were scathing of the way councillors had not been able to work together.
"There's a lot (saying) that councillors need to work together, and we're not realising the potential of the region because of the behaviour and the division.
"Some of the words used were ridiculous, time wasting and self-serving."
Monday's meeting will be the second attempt by councillors at removing the CEO.
The matter was due to come up again at last month's council meeting, but was withdrawn from the agenda days before that meeting.
Monday's extraordinary council meeting will start at 4pm. It is closed to the public and the media.
