Liberal Upper House MP Scot MacDonald moved the motion which acknowledged and commended those mountain bikers that road through Woolgoolga, Grafton, Guyra, Armidale, Walcha and Tamworth in September.
“The efforts of the riders and the organising committee were simply extraordinary,” Mr MacDonald said.
“Since the inception of this charity endeavour, over $1m has been raised to help continue the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service”.
“This is the 17th year of the ride and the $103,000 raised will go to continuing this great service.
“Committee treasurer Bill Warburton and ride captain Steven Livingstone, together with their fellow committee members, deserve the highest accolades for their continued selflessness to our community.
“Not many decisions made in parliament are by a unanimous vote. The unanimous vote is testament to how much respect there is for the hard work undertaken by this great group of people.”
