Bucko’s love for his club was evident to anyone who watched him play. Renowned for his natural talent, silky skills and huge heart, Steve was an incredibly gifted midfielder who was instrumental for DK during the 1980s and 1990s.
Steve’s love for his club and the game ensured he remained within DK for many years after his playing days. Perhaps more than anything, he will best be remembered for more than 25 years of dedication and commitment to coaching DK teams. His enthusiasm and passion was evident in every training session and game as both a junior and senior coach. Steve’s continued focus on improving each and every player will be a resounding feature of his remarkable legacy.
Steve was blessed with a wealth of football knowledge that could easily be shared given his down to earth nature. He will be remembered as a calming influence on the sideline and on the training ground. Many of DK’s current players and coaches have enjoyed the privilege of his tutelage over years which can only attribute to the club’s ongoing successes. Always genuine, Steve respected all and in turn was loved and admired. His funeral will be held at Piddington’s at 10am, Friday, May 26.
