Station manager Charlie Winter said the Pathfinders boys had planted 1000 pumpkin seeds for the initiative.
“This year we are hoping to produce 15 tonnes of pumpkin for the homeless and needy,” Mr Winter said. It is part of the station’s program to help encourage community spirit among their wards.
“Last year we were able to feed 250 people in Newtown so this year we want to be bigger and better,” Mr Winter said.
