In a coup for the city, the club are hosting the NSW Ploughing State Championships.
Six of the states top ploughers will be competing in Armidale for a shot to represent NSW in the national competition.
From there, they’ll take on best in the globe at the world championships.
Collin Lethbridge said there would be plenty on show for spectators this weekend.
The self-confessed plough fanatic will be bringing out his 1948 machine for the occasion. “It’s in mint condition - it still has the original tyres on it,” Mr Lethbridge said.
“It was my father’s and hasn’t been used except for competition.
“It’s going to be interesting.”
Mr Lethbridge and his 15-year-old son will be one of a handful of locals taking part in a demonstration plough.
The event will run from 11am until 5pm tomorrow and is likely to continue until late on Sunday morning.
The competition will be held at a private property on Harvey’s Road off Long Swamp Road, roughly 11 kilometres from Armidale.
