The popularity of novelty events, along with great prizes (including Christmas hams and turkeys) and the great fellowship of the club members, saw around 30 shooters attend Guyra’s Christmas shoot on Saturday, 13 December, 2014.

The day commenced with a Five Gun Salute in memory of Doug Jackes, Herb Williamson and Cath Reeves. Club members Geoff Field, John Reid, Jeff Richardson, Robert Reeves and Dave Edmonds took part in the gesture.
The first event was 25 targets of Skeet where several shooters posted the 25/25 possible. The Grade results are as follows:
AA Grade 1st Roger Vidal 37/39, 2nd Geoff Field 36/39;
A Grade 1st Robert Reeves 25/29, 2nd Blake Handebo 24/29;
B Grade 1st Geoff Baxter 18/25, 2nd Dave Newberry 17/25;
C Grade 1st Dean Field 13/25, 2nd Jim Lenehan 14/26.
The second event was a novelty event known as Skeetal, (shooters use the Skeet layout but shoot at targets released from the Down-The-Line trap), was the next event.
The Grade results read:
AA Grade 1st Ben Rumbel 16/28, 2nd Ray Hammond 15/28; A Grade 1st Greg Burey 13/20, 2nd Dave Newberry 12/20; B Grade 1st Jim Lenehan 14/18, 2nd Peter Handebo 7/18; C Grade 1st Wayne Heagney 13/20, 2nd Rheece Handebo 12/20.
A 30 Target Mixed event followed with Dave Edmonds on song shooting 50/50 to win AA Grade. AA Grade 2nd Geoff Baxter 49/52; A Grade 1st Dave Newberry 43/50, 2nd Ralph Larkings 40/50; B Grade 1st Jim Lenehan 39/50, 2nd Peter Handebo 30/50; C Grade 1st Dean Field 40/50, 2nd Wayne Heagney 36/50.
The next event was a 21 Target “Walk-Back-Walk-Up”. The Grade results read as follows:
AA Grade 1st Geoff Field 22/23, 2nd Dave Edmonds 21/23; A Grade 1st Robert Reeves 18/21, 2nd Ralph Larkings 18/22; B Grade 1st Jim Lenehan 16/21, 2nd Peter Handebo 13/21; C Grade 1st Callam Moffatt 18/22, 2nd Daniel Klabe 17/22.
The final event for the day was a 10 Pair Double Rise:
AA Grade 1st Geoff Field 18/20, 2nd John Reid 16/20; A Grade 1st Bernie Mackson 17/24, 2nd Robert Reeves 16/24; B Grade 1st Jim Lenehan 11/20, 2nd Peter Handebo 10/20; C Grade 1st Callam Moffatt 13/22, 2nd Dave Saunders 12/22.
The Overall High Gun for the day was won by Dave Edmonds with 113/134. The AA Grade High Gun went to Geoff Field.
The best of A Grade was Dave Newberry 101/134 and Jim Lenehan 92/134 took home the High Gun for B Grade.
The C Grade High Gun went to Wayne Heagney (93/134). The Vet’s High Gun was won by Geoff Baxter 110/134 and Dean Field, (86/134) took the Junior’s prize. Sarah Edmonds won the Ladies’ High Gun.
