Spokeswoman Joy Bowles said the event, from 6pm to 10pm, would celebrate the coming of Spring and progress towards a permanent outdoor labyrinth in Civic Park
"Labyrinths are being built to enhance the wellbeing of communities across the planet, and Armidale Dumaresq Council has agreed to support one being built here," Ms Bowles said.
"A one-way path that twists and turns around concentric circles, walking a labyrinth provides much-needed respite from our often hectic lives, an opportunity to connect with others in a busy world … and it makes a great space for kids to run around, too."
In Armidale, bricks will be laid in the soil where the labyrinth is currently painted on the grass on the Dangar Street side of the park, between the bike path and the duck pond.
It will cost about $16,000 to build, with about $4000 raised so far.
Money has been raised through an online Pozible crowd-funding campaign at http://Pozible.com/labyrinth which finishes on November 1.
"Walk the labyrinth at any time or join us for a group walk at 7 pm at the Pumpkin Party," Ms Bowles said.
