Betsy was a stray who was found wondering the streets of Tingha and without a home to go may have had to be put down. The fact she is still alive is in no small part due to the work being done by the team at Guyra District Veterinary Service and their team of foster carers.
When her time at the pound was up she was taken in by foster carer Matthew Mulligan. Matthew is an animal lover and was only too happy to care for Betsy while she waited to find a permanent home.
After reading the story in last week’s Argus the Camm family came forward with the offer of a home. They already have another dog who is 17 years old, a kitten and two budgies.
Peter Camm said that Betsy was a welcome addition who fitted in from the start.
Both Matthew and Peter are encouraging other members of the community to consider what they can do to help find homes for unwanted strays.
It may be as a temporary or permanent carer, both of which are needed so there can be more happy endings like Betsy’s.
