In round two of the Armidale table tennis competition Whatisname had a big win over The Other Team scoring 27 to 17.

Mitchell Hardman and Jacob Ginzborg had a close run with Ginzborg triumphing in the seventh game.
Andrew Parker and Robert Ramajani also fought out an even contest with Parker taking the set 3-2 for Whatisname.
Only one point separated Reflectoids and The Spitfires at the start of the 2-3 doubles but with wins there to Richard Curtis and Dane Horanik, and singles wins to Curtis and captain Jim Walkinshaw, the Reflectoids moved ahead taking the final score to 22 to 18.
London Bounders took on Quod Possumus and the scores remained nicely even for the first four matches. London Bounders won the next set through Ian Piddington but Quod Possumus evened the scores again in the next game then went on to score 10 points to three in the next three sets.
Ben Phillips from the Bounders held fast in a tight game against Stephan Horanik but Quod Possumus had their nose firmly in front, finishing 17 to 25.
Mafan and Tacheon Drive couldn’t be separated until the final contest. Tacheon Drive took the 1/2 doubles through Jim Ridgewell and Harry Hughes, followed by a 1-4 win for James Gaywood (TD) over Chris Roese.
Harry Hughes managed to take a game off Mafan captain Norm Gaywood which levelled the scores again.
Mafan won the 2/3 doubles and with still nothing separating the two teams, it came down to the last match between Norm Gaywood and Jim Ridgewell.
Ridgewell won this for a 19-21 victory.
The Green team came home with the points over OP but only in the final two matches. Peter Jeitani and Erica Smith (OP) battled for seven games with Smith eventually taking the last game for a 4-3 win.
The 1-2 doubles was also hard-fought but Neil Dunstan and Mark McDermott from The Green Team prevailed over Simon Quast and Sara Bowers 3-2.
With one point separating the teams it came down to the final singles and with good wins from Dunstan and McDermott, the Green Team took the points, 22-20.
The Sea Eagles soared over Merino but the Eagles didn’t have it all their own way. Merino’s Kevin Hughes took on Michael Maratea and came up with the win after seven games, 4-3. Merino’s 2/3 doubles were also able to hang on for a 3-2 win.
