The NSW Election Funding Authority is holding an information seminar in Armidale on August 21 for candidates, and their official agents, considering standing at the NSW State Election in next March.

The seminar will cover a range of topics including political donations, electoral expenditure, public funding for election campaigns and the management and disclosure of campaign finances.

"Anyone engaged, or intending to engage, in campaign fundraising may already have legal obligations and responsibilities under the Election Funding, Expenditure and Disclosures Act, 1981", said electoral commissioner, Colin Barry.

"If you are intending to stand as a candidate at the election you will have obligations and responsibilities under law. You should attend the seminar even if you have been a candidate in the past or are seeking re-election".

Pre-registration is not required.
