A male in his 40s and a 52-year-old woman were airlifted to hospital following a car accident on Monday morning that left four people trapped.

Two Westpac Rescue Helicopter units were tasked by New South Wales Ambulance at 8.30am on Monday morning following the report of a serious motor vehicle accident on Bundarra Road at Sauramez Ponds west of Armidale.
A multi-agency emergency service response was required to free those trapped at the scene.
Local NSW Ambulance paramedics and the two helicopter critical care medical teams treated and stabilised a male occupant in his 40's and a 52-year-old woman.
Both sustained serious head injuries and were airlifted and taken to John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.
A man and woman aged in their 70s were the occupants of the other vehicle, and NSW Ambulance Paramedics transported them to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital where they are in a stable condition.
