Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall released the latest figures which showed 20 cases across his electorate, with the other positive tests coming in Moree, Inverell and Tingha.
Moree has had five confirmed cases and Mr Marshall confirmed he had been told the most recent one was linked to a funeral held in the town on Thursday last week.
Tingha Public School was closed for contact tracing and deep cleaning after the same confirmed case at Drummond Memorial Public School also visited the Tingha school, Mr Marshall said. There have been three cases in Tingha.
Inverell has one confirmed case.
NSW chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant made a "big call out" to the communities of Inverell and Moree in the Wednesday update and urged residents to get vaccinated, tested and follow health advice.
"The risk of community transmission is increasing at these sites," she said.
Dr Chant said both regional towns had a "significant group of people" in the population that were yet to be protected by the coronavirus vaccine.
The latest vaccination statistics show almost 90 per cent of the Armidale region has now received at least one dose of the vaccine against COVID-19. The number of those fully vaccinated is now 80.9 per cent.
