With Armidale is still recovering from the hail storm and tornado that struck earlier this month, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) is predicting severe storms with the likelihood of large hail and damaging winds which have the possibility of becoming destructive.
BOM has warned thunderstorms are likely to develop in the afternoon and persist into the night.

Meteorologist Hugh McDowell said locals could expect to see damaging winds up to 120 kilometres per hour.
Although damaging winds would be the greatest risk, Mr McDowell said large hail stones and rain cannot be ruled out.
"Hail's a possibility and so is heavy rain," he said.
In other areas of the state, including the Hunter, Central Coast and Mid North Coast, BOM is advising residents the storms have the potential to develop supercells within them.
Stay alert this week, listen to any updates and advice and monitor the Bureau of Meteorology website on www.bom.gov.au.
