Tamworth High School has confirmed it has closed for deep cleaning on Monday after a member of the school community tested positive to COVID-19.

Advice for casual contacts:

Anyone who attended these venues are considered casual contacts and must get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result.

If the date of exposure at the venue occurred in last four days, you must get another test on day five from the date of exposure.

Wear a mask around others and limit your movements until you get another negative result.

You should continue to monitor for symptoms and if any symptoms occur, get tested again.

HEALTH authorities have confirmed all potential contacts of the positive COVID-19 case understood to have visited Lake Keepit over the long weekend have been identified.

A Hunter New England Health (HNEH) spokeswoman told the Leader it was aware of a visitor to the area who has since tested positive to the virus.

The spokeswoman said no exposure site would be listed at this stage because contact tracing had been done.

Anyone who visited the Gunnedah local government area - which includes Lake Keepit - since Monday, September 27, is subject to the state at home orders.

There has been one recent case each in Tamworth and Werris Creek, which HNEH have linked to the Gunnedah cluster, which sits at six people at as the Tuesday update.
