At the quarter-time drinks break, Armidale led 12-6 but the rest of the game went much the way of the visitors.
By half-time the Hawks were in front 24-14 and by full-time they had finished as 44-18 victors.
Coach Brock Mathers was happy with his side limiting their errors.
"Ball control was good again and we completed sets which gave us more time to attack at the right end of the field," he said.
"Some much needed aggression was good to see and the boys are really coming together."
While the whole team stepped up, Mathers was particularly impressed with Alex Hull and Joven Moore, the latter switching to halfback from the wing after Steve McIntosh departed the field through injury.
"Alex Hull in the second row was great - [he was] tough and led the forwards," he said.
"Joven Moore was also good scoring three tries.
"[He] went from the wing to halfback and got us going forward and played well in that role.
"Everyone played tough and stayed focused on our game day goals."
The Hawks were due to face Glen Innes at Varley Oval but due to the recent rainfall, the fixture was postponed.
