Michael Booby, 25, was arrested in Armidale in October last year after detectives, the Proactive Crime Team, highway patrol and uniformed police backed by the dog squad closed in on him in a manhunt spanning two days and three towns.

He did not appear in Tamworth Local Court when his case was called, charged with domestic violence-related reckless wounding of a Tamworth woman.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Matt Pawsey told the court the brief of evidence was not compliant.

The court heard one of the "outstanding" evidence items was a "Triple Zero call" in relation to what Booby's accused of.

"A two-week adjournment to the 27^th of January, because the brief is not compliant," magistrate Peter Thompson said.

"It will be fully compliant on the next occasion."

Booby has been in custody since his arrest. Prosecutors have six months to confirm the charges against the 25-year-old, after he was first refused bail in October.

"I am concerned about the delay in this matter ... a two-week adjournment seems appropriate," Mr Thompson said.

"The 14^th of April is the six-month date so there is still a bit of time in relation to the matter."

Booby's defence solicitor appeared via video link, but told the court his client was not required to be on the screen. He has not been required to enter a plea to the charge.

"Bail not applied for, formally refused," Mr Thompson said.

The 25-year-old was captured in a dramatic fashion last year, after a manhunt started in Tamworth and led police officers to Armidale and Guyra.

It ended in his arrest in Fayle Avenue in Armidale, and Booby was charged with an arrest warrant in relation to the Tamworth matter, as well as other matters which remain before the courts.
