The Scorpions took a 4-1 victory over Demon Knights, who played most of the match with 10 men after an early red card.
Immediately after DK's red card, Souths put points on the board with Liam Georkas capitalising off the penalty and the minor premiers held a 1-nil lead at half-time.
Midway through the second stanza, the Scorpions' Tom Smith received his second yellow card for the game which saw him depart the field and both teams even.
Demon Knights drew level on the scoreboard shortly after with skipper Bentley Cropper hitting the back of the net.
It didn't take long for Souths to edge back in front with Georkas again.
Tom Campbell put the result beyond doubt six minutes from full-time when he floated one into the net before golden boot winner Shuku Shinzu added his name to the goal-scorers' list to blow out the full-time score.
Team manager Daniel Clyde-Smith believes the side's fitness is what got them over the line in the end.
"It has been a very difficult season with everything that has happened but the boys have trained the house down all year," he said.
"Their commitment, their effort, it is evident right here on the pitch and that's where the congratulations goes - to all the boys out there.

"Our first-half wasn't great, wasn't where we needed to be and we had a man advantage there for a while and we just got on top of them with our fitness, just wore them down a bit."
Clyde-Smith was also quick to credit their opponents for battling on with 10 players.
"Credit to DK, they played a great game," he said.
"They just stuck in this game the whole way through, even with a man down very early on."
The division one win capped off a good day for South Armidale who were also crowned premiers in second division and runners-up in third grade to Guyra.
"Thanks to the uni and the refs, everyone involved in Souths, it is a club effort and we deserve both grades if you ask me," Clyde-Smith said.
