A man has been charged following a police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle which allegedly reached speeds of 190km/h.

The pursuit, which started south of Tamworth, ended near Bendemeer on the New England Highway.
It began on Saturday morning, after police detected a silver Kia Cerato hatchback speeding on the New England Highway at Timbumburi.

Police allege the vehicle was travelling at 128km/h, when it was clocked around 11.20am.
Attempts to stop the vehicle failed and a pursuit was initiated, which headed south into Tamworth.
It is alleged the vehicle reached speeds of 190km/h in a 100km/h zone while travelling through South Tamworth, before the pursuit was terminated.
The vehicle was sighted again on the New England Highway, north of Bendemeer a short time later, when it is alleged the hatchback left the roadway and hit a ditch.
Police will allege the driver, a 22-year-old man, ran from the vehicle and was arrested soon after.
Checks on the vehicle revealed it was reported stolen from the Blacktown area on Tuesday last week.
The man was taken to Armidale Police Station where he was charged with exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h, driving while disqualified, engaging in a police pursuit and dangerous driving.
He was bail refused to appear before Armidale Local Court on Monday, October 10.
