High-intensity storms and concentrated runoff has been causing flash flooding and damage to Walcha's roads since January, and the most recent was Thunderbolts Way last week.

"The maintenance program has been dynamic over the last two months due to the nature of the storm activity," said Walcha Council general manager Anne Modderno.

"Council currently has four maintenance grading teams in action on our roads and multiple drainage crews that are addressing blocked culverts and clearing debris and other material from our drains.
"Our top priority is to provide safe access, and our crews will be diverted in the event that a road becomes dangerous or non trafficable."
Motorists are advised to drive to conditions during the current consistent wet weather.
