Mr Joyce said Glen Innes' Radio 2 CBD FM was recently funded to the tune of $13,725 to purchase new outside broacasting technology for its live coverage of events, and Walcha's Quota International landed $20,000 for its project, Walcha Sound Sights, that supported the collection of local indigenous, farming and other historically relevant stories captured in the Soundtrails application.
"This assistance through the Tackling Tough Times Together program enables community groups in drought-affected regional areas to help build social cohesion, address disadvantage, support economic renewal and increase social and educational participation," he said.
A total of $15 million is being provided by the Federal Government for the Tackling Tough Times Together program.
