"We're very excited because we're going to buy a new PA system for our Australia Day celebrations," Mr Phillips said.
It might be a simple PA system, but it's a well warranted piece of infrastructure that will be utilised right throughout the community.

"This is something we've been wanting for a very long time. Every year, come Australia Day we've been searching for a PA system, but now we'll have our own.
"We have a great Australia Day. We have a parade down the street here, one of the very few towns left in the State where that's allowed and our council support us fully, as they are in charge of Australia Day. We have some great celebrations."
Uralla Shire Council Mayor Michael Pearce said the grant was a fantastic effort from the committee.
"It might be a simple PA system, but it's a well warranted piece of infrastructure that will be utilised right throughout the community," he said.
"Well done the committee, they're a great little group, and I'll do what I can to support them now and into the future.

Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall said he had attended Uralla's Australia Day ceremonies in Alma Park last year. A conversation with Bev Niland then alerted him to the fact that the committee needed a new PA system.
"I said, 'Rightio, why don't you write me a letter.', and she did and I asked the Premier for some money and she said 'Yes.', so we'll have a new PA system," Mr Marshall said.
"The funding came from the Premier's discretionary fund. I often tap the Premier for a little bit of money every now and again, for small grants for things that probably don't fit into a particular funding bucket.
"Just having a good sound system that they can use every year will make a big difference because you need a good system to make a good ceremony."
