This international training course is already in it's third year and delivered in partnership between UNE and RuralBiz Training.
Course participants come from government and private sector companies as well as farmer co-operatives.
They will complete the Agribusiness Certificate IV and use the knowledge acquired to implement projects improving their respective agribusinesses upon their return to their workplaces in PNG.
The possibility to complete an internationally accepted qualification is what adds to the courses attractiveness both for participants and their employers back in Papua New Guinea.
The group is at UNE for the fourth of six weeks and divides it's time between intensive classroom session and site visits to local agribusinesses. Among these were AD Commodities, New England Brewing Company, Uralla and Sunhill Dairy Goats Uralla. These visits help take the theory from the classroom to the reality of everyday business.
Weekends are spent exploring the beautiful New England or participating in Australian activities like lawn bowling or a visit to the Armidale Show - a great opportunity for the local community to meet the group and learn something new about our closest neighbour PNG.
