"We have just got to keep enjoying our cricket, I think that is what the rest of the season will be about," Elliot said.
"It is quite obvious, as you are enjoying your cricket, everything follows from that."
The two-day season resumes this Saturday and Servies will vie to secure their first win in 2019.
Their last outing resulted in a draw with City after the match was called off early.
Servies ended on 6-130, a significantly better performance than their previous match against Easts where they were bowled out for 69.
Hillgrove took on Guyra with success on Saturday before playing and losing Sunday's one-day grand final against rivals Easts.
Elliot highlighted the Hillgrove batting line up and said demonstrating patience will also be vital.
"Hillgrove bat pretty deep so we are going to have to be on the ball in the bowling stakes," he said.
"We will have to be patient with the ball and back each other up in the field.
"With the stick we have just got to value our wicket."
Ben Spence made 58 against City and Elliot is hoping he can add to his tally against Hillgrove.
"I have been pretty impressed with the way Ben Spence has been batting lately so if we get a few fellas batting around him as well that will help us," he said.
"We have just got to occupy the crease and bat for long periods of time."
