Bond University offers only a limited number of scholarships each year.
The scholarship, valued at 50 per cent of tuition fees for a degree in Busines/Economics, recognises Jack's all-round academic ability, according to Jit Loh from the univesity’s Office of Future Students.
“This year we received a record number of applications from students across the country and competition for these prestigious awards was exceptionally strong,” Mr Loh said.
“Bond University Scholars are chosen based on their academic ability, demonstrated leadership skills, extensive community and extra-curricular involvement and personal character.”
Jack, who hails from Rowena, received the news while relaxing at a northern NSW beach with friends following the completion of his HSC exams.
“It’s an honour to be offered such a great scholarship, whatever I choose to do next year,” he said.
