Rooms at the gallery hold four exhibitions which will run until November 27, with  Barbara Lanham’s Colours of Creation Exhibition filling the rear gallery room. It is a painting exhibition in which the Toowoomba artist explores pastels, acrylics, pen and wash and watercolours.

The second exhibition is called Surreal Thing and is by Marty Branagan and friends Doug Westhorpe, Mike Evans, Simon Mellor and Kimmi Scales.

“He decided to fill a room and then decided to invite a number of friends,” Tess said.

“He’s got quite an activist’s heart, I think, about how the world is and [the] conservation and political games that are played.

“And you can see it on the walls, and I think that’s quite a fascinating thing, but you have to come to see it.”

The third exhibit is called Fragments Of Life. It is Tess’ work and she kindly explained the room.

“This is the “Retro Look” over in this corner … because someone gave me this green vase and someone gave me some plates from a very old crockery set with oranges and browns. So, you put oranges, greens  and browns together and you get the 70’s,” she said.

Tess has three paintings hanging in her exhibition, Dangar’s Gorge, Metz Gorge and one of an apple tree beside the ruined foundations of an old farm house.

The Terrace Room is full of members work.

“We have a lot of good artists in the area so it’s lovely to have a room full of local works,” Tess said.
