Apache Lad took out the first race of the day – the Class 3 Handicap (1900m).
Three races later Honour Your Offer resumed from a 24 week spell with a two-and-a-half length win in the West Armidale Business Houses Maiden Handicap (1100m).
Sandwiched in between Stannis Bratheon was fifth in the Armidale Business Horses Class 1 Handicap (1400m).
Apache Lad, who has been nominated for Sunday’s West Entertainment Group Mornington Showcase Handicap, was coming off a fifth last start, coincidentally at Armidale.
Jockey Wendy Peel sat the eight-year old towards the front of the field pretty well most of the race and the gelding just had too much gas in the end, pulling away for a one-a-half-length win over Leon Cross’ Mr Malu.
They finished clear of the rest of the field with Brubaker (Adam Vine) another four lengths away in third.
