TWO of Hockey New England’s young guns will once again don the sky blue after being selected to compete at the Australian Indoor Carnival in January next year.
Chelsea Thornton and Rohan Lawrence have both been selected in the NSW under 13’s teams to play at the event in Wollongong.
I feel so proud to represent New England.

Chelsea shifts between her position as goalkeeper and playing out in the field.
Having recently returned from the Australian Hockey League championships in Perth with a silver medal, Chelsea said she can’t wait to hit the indoor arena with some of her teammates from that event.
"It is really great to get selected again, I feel so proud to represent New England,” she said.
"[In] the past [few] years I have been working towards getting in, and to go and put the NSW gear on again is just great. I made some really good friends down there and I am glad I can go and see them and verse all the girls I versed down in Perth.”
Rohan also competed at Perth and said it was the team environment which stood out for him.
"When you score a goal and the whole team cheers, that is pretty fun and enjoyable,” he said.
Lara Moloney and Tyler McCann also had their names put forward as shadow players for the NSW sides.
The championships will be from January 13-15.
