Athletes of ages and abilities are encouraged to come along to Armidale Parkrun this Saturday to beat their best times and get set for the annual Armidale Fun Run.
Pacers will set out on the course this weekend with set times for people to beat and achieve personal bests.
Armidale Parkrun co-director Tim Dyall said it is a great way to get motivated ahead of the Fun Run on November 6. He said the pacers can also provide runners with tips on improving their personal bests.

“[We have pacers] to help people improve their times,” he said.
“It gives them someone to focus on. [It will] get people training and in the mood for the Fun Run the following weekend.”
Armidale City Bowling Club will provide the pacers with balloons so runners can keep an eye on their goals throughout the five kilometre course.
Armidale Parkrun occurs every Saturday from 8am at SportUNE. It is a free, timed run or walk which is aimed at the whole family getting out and getting active.
Each week, an average of 130.6 people, both local and Parkrun tourists, participate in the Armidale event. Since its inception in 2014, more than 70,000 kilometres have been clocked up on the course at SportUNE.
