
Armidale District Cricket Association’s junior competition officially started on Saturday with plenty of young stars making an impact on the competition.
Guyra’s under 16’s side dominated in their match against The Armidale School White.
The opening batsmen Nick Page and BJ Cameron earned big scores with Page making 103 not out and Cameron finishing on 87 not out.
Henry Smith top scored for TAS White with 72 but it wasn’t enough with Guyra walking away winners by 66 runs.
Hillgrove beat TAS Blue in the other under 16’s match. Un the under 14’s, Hillgrove and Ex-Services beat both of the TAS teams.
The under 12’s matches saw Uralla defeat the combined Uralla-Walcha team, Catholic Sports Club beat TAS, Hillgrove Colts toppled Guyra and Ex-Services accounted for Hillgrove Brumbies.
ADCA junior vice-president Michael Dennis was happy with the turnout of young cricketers across all matches on the weekend.
