PLANS for solar lights to be installed in Guyra have been given the tick of approval at a Council meeting this week.

Armidale Regional Council Administrator, Dr Ian Tiley said the plans are now approved with a focus on the next stage of development.
“Last Wednesday Council approved the project to put solar on Council’s principle buildings.”
The $434,000 was allocated to the project by the National Stronger Regions Fund (NSRF).
The project is one of many currently being pursued in the region.
Member for Northern Tablelands, Adam Marshall highlighted the importance of utilising renewable energy in regional areas, while commenting on the Glen Innes solar farm project last week.
“Renewables can no longer be seen as something merely on the fringes of rural economies or energy generation,” Mr Marshall said.
