ANOTHER one of Armidale’s up and coming hockey stars has impressed on the field with selection into NSW’s team to play at the national championships.
Chelsea Thornton was named in the state’s number one side when the teams were announced on July 19.
Chelsea competed at the under 13s championships in Wagga Wagga over the school holidays where she was selected to trial for the NSW team as a goalkeeper.
Her mother Kate said it was exciting to have a depth of talented hockey players in the region and Chelsea was excited to be named in the squad.
We are so lucky to have three of our up and coming young hockey players making state teams all from Armidale and awesome coachers that help develop these kids along the way,” she said.
“This is what Chelsea has aimed for to achieve over the past couple of years and we are so very proud of her and her achievement.”
This brings Hockey New England’s under 13s representative’s to three.
