
ARMIDALE’S junior shooters made their mark in the rifle shooting arena with outstanding success at an interschool event.
New England Girls’ School along with The Armidale School competed at the annual Fiona Reynolds Memorial All School’s shooting match in Malabar, south of Sydney over the last week.
The match was shot as one 500m stage and two 600m stages, using electronic targets in windy and cool conditions.
Scots College took out the team competition with one of the three TAS teams placing a respectable fourth and NEGS placing sixth.
In the individual event, NEGS shooter Isabelle Cameron set the standard, winning the best individual score with her 149 out of 150.
Cameron secured the award for the second year in a row making her the only person to win it twice.
TAS’ Tom Southwell placed third in the individual shooting category with 147.
