SEEING the world through rose-coloured lenses is one thing, but it becomes very difficult to see straight when looking through beer goggles.
That’s what Uralla Library patrons will find out as it educates the community on standard drink sizes this month. Patrons will be able to try on “beer goggles”, to see how their vision and movement is impaired by alcohol.
The library also has a display showing the standard serve of alcohol represented by glasses of spirits, wines and ales – all replicas, of course.
Library coordinator Luise Scherer said there had been a lot of interest in the display. “There is a tendency to over-size drinks and this will be tested at Uralla Library where people will be asked to pour what they think is a standard drink,” she said.
Patrons have completed small obstacle courses wearing the goggles with surprising results.
