Waters ensured there would be no complacency this time against the lowly Roosters as he ran in four tries in a sensational individual display.
Fullback Hayden Strong opened the scoring for the Rams, which was followed soon after by Waters’ first four-pointer to hand the Rams a 12-nil lead.
Ashford scored their only try of the day through Kerrod Sampson shortly after, but it was all one way traffic after that.
Man of the match Gary Quinlan opened his account with 17 minutes left in the first half, Waters got his second soon after and captain-coach Clarrie Moran scored before half time to give the Rams a 30-6 lead at the break.
Strong got his second shortly after half time, which was followed by a trademark Jamie Smith barge over try and two more to Waters to push the margin to 52-6.
Smith closed the match out with his second to cap off a sensational day for the Rams.
It was the Rams best defensive performance of the year and club president Terry Carson was certainly pleased with the effort.
“It was a good win,” he said.
“We played really well and stuck to what we wanted to do.
“Our defence was obviously the most pleasing part.
“They didn’t throw a lot at us, but we had to defend a few sets on our own line at one stage and we held them out.”
Carson said when Waters is in that sort of form, it is a pleasure to watch.
“He was on fire,” Carson said.
“Freddy had an absolute blinder.” Quinlan and big Josh Koroibulu also impressed the Rams president.
