International Buskers Festival organiser John Logan said the festival would be filled with surprises for the community.
“Coffs Buskers Festival has been running by the year 2000. It used to be run by the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour but it became too much for them so we took it over,” Mr Logan said.

“We own and run the festival so we reached out to other councils. We had an approach by Armidale and we liked it so we are bringing the festival to the city for one day.”
Six acts will line up in the Armidale Mall including a live performance from 2014 X-Factor participants Brothers 3.
Armidale Regional Council’s Arts, Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee chair Margaret O’Connor said the community was excited to welcome the international busking festival.
“We are in the middle of planning activation of our public spaces, particularly the streets and the mall,” Cr O’Connor said.
“This festival is wonderful for Armidale and surrounding areas but it’s also great to see us spreading our collaboration down the coast.”
The performers will entertain the crowd with a variety of acts including fire twirling and clowning.
Council’s tourism, marketing and events program leader Tony Broomfield said it was something very different for the community.
“We’ve never had something like this before. We can guarantee the children will never have seen these acts before because they are international buskers coming from as far as Amsterdam,” Mr Broomfield said.
“It’s council trying to bring different things into the mall. We are working hard on bringing more events and interests for locals and visitor.
“This was a great opportunity.”
The city’s leg of the international busker festival will run from 10am-2pm in the Armidale Mall on October 2.
