IT was a proper soaking right across the New England and Northern Tablelands, as heavy rain hit the region indiscriminately on Sunday and carried on through to Monday.

Wyoming Station, halfway between Guyra and Glen Innes on the MacIntyre River, topped the state’s 24-hour rainfall, with a massive 112mm.
The nearby Ben Lomond was a close second with 98mm. The region’s next best was Walcha with 84mm.
Glen Innes (64mm) and Tingha (51mm) also got drenched, while Tamworth and Armidale looked comparatively dry with just over 10mm.
Across the region, Moree saw 42mm, Nundle 39mm, Bundarra 38mm, Quirindi 30mm, Inverell 27mm and Uralla 19mm.
Guyra, Bingara and Barraba all got 21mm, while Tenterfield received 4mm.
Looking ahead, the sun will reappear throughout the week – but it’s forecast to be another wet weekend, with the entire region expected to get battered by storms on the weekend.
There will be possible late showers on Friday, building up to thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday.
Throughout the week, Tamworth will be partly cloudy. The city is predicted to get between nine and 20 millimetres over the weekend.
