The Eels began round three of the groundbreaking competition on Saturday with a 14-4 win over the Warialda Wombats at Warialda Recreation Ground.
Although they fell to ladder leaders Moree in the following game that day, Moran said the 12-0 result did not deflate the Eels.
All the girls were very stoked about the first win. It really boosted us
- Anarla Moran
“The girls were pretty good in defence [against Moree],” she added. “We just stuck to our game plan and we did really good.”
Against Warialda on Saturday, Moran scored two second-half tries after teammate Jeanette Waters posted the first try.
Moran said: “I love getting out on the field with all the girls and looking at the other girls having fun … That’s what it’s all about – going out there and having fun.”
The Armidale Rams also had a win and a loss on Saturday – losing 10-0 to Moree in game one and then downing Warialda 10-4.
The final two rounds will be played at Burt Jovanovick Oval in Moree on December 9.
Armidale sit second on the ladder and Narwan sit third.
