Captain Kyle Taylor lauded the efforts of his side with the ball in hand against Guyra but they face a tougher challenge when they take on one of Armidale cricket’s top bowling line-ups this Saturday in Easts.
“They're not to be taken lightly, Easts are a good team, it was a surprising loss on the weekend,” Taylor said.
“They won the comp, not last year but the year before and they were in the final last year so they are really competitive team so we have to be on our game to win or maybe even get a draw.”
Easts will be ready to head back into the winner’s circle after losing to Servies on the weekend, despite bowling them all out for 74.
Captain Sam Uphill said there has to be a change in attitude from his side when it comes to stepping out with the bat.
“It was pretty embarrassing,” he said.
“Can't take it away from Servies, they did bowl really well and grabbed a couple of early wickets. There wasn't enough fight from any of us.
“To be honest, I think we have got to bat well.
“Karl has done it to us a few times early in the last few seasons where he grabs a couple of early wickets and then he runs through us.
“We have to be a bit more disciplined if he does grab a couple of early wickets that our middle order can consolidate.”
Easts batting line-up has been bolstered by the addition of Clarrie Moran from the Barbarians.
Moran’s transfer comes at a handy time with Todd Francis, Aaron Whackett and Cody Graham missing from the team this weekend.
