It is a big claim from Genia, given he was firmly part of the last World Cup team that transformed themselves from underdogs to finalists in the space of a few weeks.

In the wake of Australia's 37-20 win over Argentina in Mendoza and yet another second placing in the Rugby Championship, Genia has spoken about how tight players have become and why there is an added sense of accountability in the group.

"It's the best environment I've been a part of in the time I've been in a Wallaby group," Genia said. "Everyone has a buy-in and a say in how we do things.

"Everyone holds each other accountable as far as the standards, it's a really good group to be a part of. The biggest thing I enjoy is that guys want to get better and improve."

After a June series where questions were asked about whether the Wallabies were slipping back to the pack in relation to other nations, coach Michael Cheika brought the squad together for fitness and bonding sessions in July and August.

The gruelling camps seem to have paid dividends, with a number of players speaking about how those sessions brought the group closer together and created a real sense of team unity and cohesion.

"We've had a little bit more time to develop what we stand for as a team," Genia said. "We've got something we want to live by as far as what it means to be a Wallaby and as time has gone on we've been able to add to it but also hold ourselves accountable to living by it, on and off the field.

"Over time it's become more organic, as opposed to something that is forced.

"It's a great thing when you have young guys like [Izack] Rodda come in and buy into it straight away, as a senior playing seeing that you feel like it's very conducive to being open to everybody."

The biggest test of Australia's character will come in two weeks time when they do battle once again with the All Blacks.

New Zealand finished their six-game Bledisloe Cup campaign undefeated but almost came undone in their last fixture against South Africa, who pushed them all the way in a 25-24 thriller.

After being thumped in Bledisloe game one, the Wallabies rallied in Dunedin. They led 17-0 early on and in the dying stages but blew a golden opportunity to get one up on their trans-Tasman rivals, eventually going down 35-29.

Genia said the All Blacks were beatable despite losing just two of their previous 32 matches.

"If you can consistently pressure them throughout the 80 minutes you can score points and also pressure them into errors," Genia said. "There's no secret it's going to be tough but we prepare as though we want to win, we prepare as though we want to be the best in the world.

"I'm not afraid of saying it, because why would you do it if you didn't have those aspirations? We're not shying away from the fact it's going to be a very tough challenge."

The Wallabies looked like they might be staring down the barrel of another forgettable defeat in Mendoza but two tries from Reece Hodge and one in the 61st minute to Genia sealed their 15th win from 16 starts against the Pumas.

"You've got to appreciate winning away from home and you can't underestimate how difficult it is," Genia said. "It's a cauldron and the supporters get them going.

"We spoke about finding solutions within the group on the field and I thought we did that very well."
