“The work involves re-sheeting a significant stretch of the well-used road – ensuring safer conditions for road-users,” said Mark Burgess, Council’s Program Leader - Roads & Drainage Maintenance.
“Gravel production is well underway for the re-sheet which will include rehabilitation of roadside drainage systems as well as the application of a 100mm layer of new gravel along an 8.6km section of the road.”
Work on the road is expected to start in two weeks time and last for approximately five weeks – weather permitting.
Once underway, road users are asked to expect delays, follow road side signage and be mindful of the safety of the team undertaking the work and other road users.
