I just think it’s a nice thing to do, to be able to give back to the community.

“I just think it’s a nice thing to do, to be able to give back to the community,” she said.

“Everyone makes them in their own time, they use different materials they have around.

“One of our members Coral Thrift works with the elderly residents at the lodge.”

Ken Thompson’s Lodge is an aged care facility in Armidale.

The Quilters and Patchworkers of New England have been meeting for more than 25 years.

They have made donations to Ken Thompson’s Lodge for the past seven, this one was made on Tuesday.

“We make the quilts to try and keep their legs warm,” Ms Wood said.

“The ladies make them all themselves out their material stashes.

“We’ve had a lot of people say that the residents really appreciate the lap quilts.”
