Brent Pedlow made an immediate impact in his to the McDonald’s Northern Inland Premier League, scoring a brace in the 7-nil thrashing of his former club. Pedlow recently returned to Australia after a stint in American College soccer and East’s captain Trent Irwin said he was a constant threat.
“He scored a hat-trick in the first half and everytime he touched the ball he looked dangerous. He offers a real attacking threat,” he said.
“The most satisfying thing was the clean sheet, not conceding any goals, just really tightening up defensively.”
Easts are sitting in the lower half of the first grade table in a tight competition.
Irwin said the next month of matches are “critical” for the team, needing to put together wins to climb their way up the ladder.
“Moving into this weekend against Souths, we need to consolidate wins and build a bit of momentum,” he said.
