A MAN was still being questioned by detectives late on Thursday night after the discovery of another man’s body at a property on the outskirts of Armidale.

The 43-year-old Armidale man suffered significant injuries and died outside a homestead on a property off Dangars Falls Rd at Dangarsleigh.
His body was discovered by police shortly after 8.30am on Thursday, with a 48-year-old man arrested at the scene.

“His body was located outside the premises.
“We are treating the matter as suspicious.”
Police confirmed the men were known to one another and were both staying at the property at the time.
Now, detectives from Strike Force Kinsella – a specialist homicide investigation set up by local detectives – will try and working out what happened on Thursday morning.
The 48-year-old man was not injured, police said, and was taken to Armidale Police Station where he remained in custody on Thursday night.
Investigators are remaining tight-lipped on the circumstances surrounding the investigation and how the man died, only confirming the pair were both local to Armidale.
“Police located a 48-year-old man at the property and he is assisting with inquiries,” Detective Inspector Joy said on Thursday night.

Forensic police from Tamworth and Inverell, as well as specialist fingerprint experts, were deployed to comb the crime scene, which was still under police guard on Thursday night.
”Just after 8am, police received the initial information that resulted in officers attending the location,” Detective Inspector Joy said.
“The discovery was made shortly after 8.30am.
“Strike Force Kinsella has been established by New England detectives and police from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad are assisting with the investigation.”
Detectives were still questioning the man late on Thursday night and no charges had been laid.
They will now prepare a brief for the coroner.

About 8.35am on Thursday, New England police were called to reports of a body found on a property at Dangarsleigh.
A crime scene was set up at the location and forensic crews are en-route to the scene.
Police have confirmed a 43-year-old man has died and the death is being treated as suspicious.
A 48-year-old man was arrested on Thursday morning. He is currently in custody at Armidale Police Station.
A spokesperson said he is assisting with inquiries.
