A MAN has been refused bail charged with stealing a game from a house after officers discovered him in the street.

John Dunne is facing a charge of break, enter and steal after allegedly breaking into a Taylor St house in Armidale.
New England Acting Inspector John Walkowiak said the occupants were woken by a sound about 4.10am on Wednesday.
The occupants discovered the rear door had been forced open and discovered an electronic game missing and saw a man run off.

“The occupants discovered the rear door had been forced open and discovered an electronic game missing and saw a man run off,” he said.
“Police attended shortly after and patrolled the area with a 26-year-old male stopped and searched and found to have possession of the suspected stolen property.”
“He was conveyed to Armidale Police Station where he was charged with break, enter and steal and also a stealing which relates to property reported stolen from a vehicle parked in a driveway at another property in Taylor St,” Acting Inspector Walkowiak said.
He appeared in Armidale Local Court on Wednesday and made no application for bail.
Dunne will remain in custody until the case heads back to court later this month.
