Born to parents Ray and Irene at Tamworth 67 years ago he was a loved husband, son, brother, father and step-father, grandfather, father in-law and friend to all who knew him.
Rocky started his drafting career as a clerk of works with his father’s building company and went on to become a wonderful architect designing bespoke and cutting edge projects which saw him win many awards and industry respect and accolades.
He ventured into retail with clothing and music stores which were also at the forefront of their trades.
Throughout all of this, Rocky had an intense desire for music.
Starting in the Armidale City Band playing cornet with his father, he then progressed to the bass guitar onto folk, pop and rock bands where he was peerless in his playing, professionalism and being simply a gentleman.
His other love was sailing, where he derived much peace, whether it be on the water in his Laser or on the shore with his remote - controlled model boats on Chickiba Lake.
Rocky went to Armidale High School and spent most of his life in Armidale though recently moved to Lennox Head.
In both places he was loved and admired and will be sadly missed.
An Armidale Celebration of Life is to be held at 16 Lynches Rd, on Sunday, from 2pm till 6pm.
