Event co-organiser Julie Raines said it was a great way to show off Armidale’s unique cultural diversity.
“The idea was really to provide an opportunity for people from different cultural backgrounds to come together and experience aspects of each others cultures in a fun environment,” she said.
“A lot of the groups have their own festivals but it’s attended from people from the same cultural background – this provides an opportunity for people to experience others and actually join in.”
Attendants can try out Bollywood dancing with traditional dancers.
Traditional food from Turkey, Thailand, the Phillipines, India and Vietnam will be available for purchase at the event.
Parts of Rusden Street near the Town Hall will be closed to accommodate for the food stalls.
The Carnivale Armidale is on Saturday April 1 from 5-9pm at the Armidale Town Hall.
Entry is free.
