As summer approaches and the days begin to warm, many of us will bust out the board shorts or bikini and cool off in the pool.
At 25 degrees, the town pool is a pleasant temperature for a dip.
But imagine talking a swim in the middle of an Armidale winter – or worse, in New Zealand’s glacier lakes.
Peter Hancock has strapped on Speedos every day for more than two and a half years.
Saturday will be his 1000th day and Peter will celebrate with a barbeque and a swim at the town pool.
Peter has swum in hundreds of locations from more than 20 years. In one challenge, he achieved more than 300 locations in a single year.
And if you ask Peter what’s next?
“I’ll probably just go for another swim tomorrow,” he said.
