On Friday the Mini Vinnies Club also donated 360 toys to the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal.
“Our aim is to make a difference to the 3000 plus people that the Armidale St Vincent de Paul visit before Christmas, so they receive a gift and know that someone is thinking of them,” Religious Education
coordinator Belinda Burton said.
Ms Burton said the prizemoney would be used for another charitable project.
“The money will go back into projects and the kids will probably say ‘we want to buy another bale of hay or buy more swags’,” she said.
The Acts of Kindness Project calls for nominations of kind acts, with forms going into a weekly draw of a cash prize.
A grand prize of $3000 is on offer, with a weekly draw of
$1000. The project is continuing into next month, with the final draw to be held at the Carols by Candlelight concert on December 9.
The competition is open to residents and community groups in Armidale and Uralla.
Nomination forms can be dropped in to the front desk at The Express office, or the One of a Kind shop at 2/151 on Rusden Street.
