After claiming Group 19 premierships in 2013 and 2014, the Tigers moved back to Group 4 Second Division this season along with their men’s side.
The move has done nothing to slow down the Tigers.
Even with a new-look side, they have stormed to a minor premiership and are favourites to take out the Group 4 Second Division league-tag title.
The Tigers will travel to Kootingal on Saturday to take on the Roosters in the major semi-final.
Kootingal are one of only two teams to beat the Tigers in 2015, with third-placed Walcha the only other.
The Tigers are coached by sisters Alyce and Brooke Walsh, who have taken over from Cameron Press.
Alyce said the change in competitions has seen the Tigers adapt their style of play to quicker Group 4 sides.
“The Group 4 comp is a lot faster paced,” she said.
“They play more like touch, it’s still very competitive but just different.”
The move to Group 4 saw the Tigers undergo an almost complete overhaul of their playing roster, with a number of players electing to remain in Group 19 with other clubs.
“Our team this year is completely different to previous years,” Alyce said.
“We lost a lot of our players but have also gained some awesome new ones as well as a few younger girls that have come up from the junior sides.”
The Tigers coach said renewed commitment from her squad has been one of the secrets to their success.
“We have a large number of committed girls turning up to training each week which always helps,” Alyce said.
“We all just get along so well and are really having fun playing and as a bonus we have been winning games.
“It’s probably the best our team has gotten on together since I first started playing.”
Uralla have played Kootingal twice this season, registering a 20-8 win at home and going down 14-4 at Kootingal.
